Originally from Taiwan, Ed is an award-winning comic who moved to Vancouver, British Columbia, thinking he was on vacation at his father’s discretion.
In 2021, Ed became the first comedian of Taiwanese-Canadian descent to release a full one hour comedy special titled “Candy & Smiley” with Comedy Dynamics. The special was named “Top 15 Comedy Specials of 2021” by Paste Magazine and “Best of 2021” by NPR Radio. The special is currently streaming worldwide on Amazon Prime and Apple TV.
Ed has performed all over the world. He was voted “Best Vancouver Comedian of 2016” by Vancouver Courier Magazine, and “Best Vancouver Comedian of 2015” by Vancouver Courier Magazine and The Georgia Straight, and named “Comic to Watch” in 2018 by Reader’s Digest Magazine and in 2015 by Canadian Immigrant Magazine. He has also appeared on AXS TV’s “Gotham Comedy Live”, “Laughs” on FOX, TED talks, and XM Radio. He was also invited to perform at the Just For Laughs Northwest Comedy Festival, the Hong Kong Comedy Festival, NXNE, San Francisco Comedy Festival, and many more.

HOST: Martha Chaves
Martha Chaves is an award-winning comedian, writer, and actor whose career spans over two decades, with appeared multiple times at the prestigious Just For Laughs Festival, the Winnipeg Comedy Festival, and the We Are Funny That Way Festival, to name a few.
She tours from coast-to-coast as a headliner for Yuk-Yuks (Canada’s premiere chain of comedy clubs) and is also in high demand for corporate performances, conferences, and speaking engagements.
She can frequently be heard on CBC’s The Debaters and Laugh Out Loud. She is a regular panellist on the popular CBC show Because News.
Martha also starred in two TV specials which were broadcast nationally: Comics! on CBC and Something About Martha on CTV and the Comedy Network.
Martha was named 2018’s Stand-up Comic of the Year by the Canadian Comedy Awards after being nominated seven years in a row, and her CD CHUNKY SALSA was included in a list of 2019’s best comedy records.
During the pandemic, she created a multi-media piece Living ‘La Covida Loca, which premiered online at The Hillside Festival. She also created “Beyond the Mask,” another multi-media piece that was featured in “Caminos” as part of the Aluna Theatre Festival 2021 program. In 2022, she was asked to perform at the Stratford Festival.
As a playwright, Martha has written and acted in several successful one-woman shows. “Staying Alive” and “In Times of Trouble” were featured in the Soulo Festival and the Aluna Theatre Festival in Toronto, respectively. “The Diaries of a Young Lezbo” premiered at SOLOCOM in New York.
